1. Hesitate (v.) – हैज़िटेट - संकोच करना / झिझकना

1. कृपया सवाल पूछने में संकोच न करें।

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions.

2. लोगों को पुलिस से संपर्क करने में बिलकुल नहीं हिचकिचाना चाहिए।

People should not hesitate at all to contact the police.

3. क्या आप इंग्लिश में बोलते समय झिझकते हैं?

Do you hesitate while speaking in English?

2. Placid (adj.)- प्लेसिड - नरम / कोमल

1. जीविका बहुत ही शांत और कोमल स्वभाव की लड़की है लेकिन अगर कुछ गलत हो रहा हो तो वह अपनी आवाज़ हमेशा उठाती है।

Jeevika is a girl of a very placid and soft nature, but whenever there is something wrong going on, then she always raises her voice.

2. जो लोग किसी भी रोग से पीड़ित है या किसी प्रकार से परेशान हैं, उनके साथ गुस्सा होने के बजाय हमें नम्र स्वभाव में बात करनी चाहिए।

Those people who are suffering from a disease or are disturbed due to any reason, with them we should talk placidly instead of showing anger.

3. Discount (n.) – डिस्काउंट - छूट / कम कीमत

1. अगर मैं नकद में भुगतान करूँ तो क्या मुझे छूट मिल सकती है?

Can I a some discount if I pay in cash?

2. ग्राहक मोबाइल फोन को ऐमेज़न ऑनलाइन स्टोर से कम कीमत पर खरीद सकते हैं।

Customers can purchase mobile phones at a discount from Amazon online store.

4. Compare (v.) - कम्पेयर - तुलना करना

1. अपने बच्चों की तुलना दूसरों के साथ न करें।

Don’t compare your children with others.

2. अनिता हमेशा अपनी सास की तुलना अपनी माँ से करती है।

Anita always compares her mother-in-law with her own mother.

5. Flexible (adj.) - फ्लैक्सिबल – लचीला / अनुकूल

1. योगा और कसरत रोज़ सुबह शाम करने से शरीर में स्फूर्ति और लचीलापन, दोनों बहुत बढ़ते हैं।

Doing yoga and exercise every day in the morning and evening increases both, activeness and flexibility.

2. जीतेन्द्र की जीन्स का कपड़ा इतना लचीला था कि जब उसकी कमर थोड़ी सी बढ़ गयी तब भी वह जीन्स उसे फिट आ रही थी।

The cloth of Jitendra’s jeans was so flexible that even when his waist size increased, the jeans still had the right fitting.

6. Glorious-(n.) - ग्लोरियस - बेहतरीन / शानदार

1. धोनी की कप्तानी में, भारत के टीम का एक शानदार दौर था।

Under Dhoni’s captaincy, the Indian team had a glorious era.

2. ऐसी शानदार फिल्में मनोरंजन के साथ - साथ हमें जीवन के बारे में भी बहुत कुछ सीखा देती हैं।

Such glorious movies not only entertain us but also teach us a lot about life.

7. Innate (n.) - इनेट – स्वाभाविक

1. चाहे कोई कितना भी छुपाने कि कोशिश कर ले लेकिन अंत में इंसान का स्वाभाविक रूप सबको दिख ही जाता है।

However hard someone tries to hide, but in the end, a person’s innate behaviour is shown to all.

2. कई बार हमें मौके की नज़ाकत को देख कर, अपना स्वाभाविक बर्ताव रोकना पड़ता है।

Many times when the situation demands, we have to curb our innate behaviour.

8. Lighten (v.) – लाइटन - हल्का करना, उजाला करना

1. ये कपडे निकालकर मैंने अपना बैग हल्का कर दिया है।

I’ve lightened my bag by taking these clothes out.

2. इस बल्ब से उसने अपने कमरे में उजाला कर दिया।

He lightened his room with this bulb.

9. Compatible (adj.) – कम्पैटिबल - संगत, अनुरूप

1. हमें एक दूसरे का साथ भाता नहीं है।

We are not compatible to each other.

2. ये सॉफ्टवेअर मेरे मोबाईल के अनुरूप नहीं है।

This software is not compatible to my mobile.

10. Fierce - फियर्स - भयानक / उग्र

1. महिमा अपनी टीम को इतना प्यार करती है कि अगर किसी ने उसकी टीम के बारे में कुछ भी उल्टा सीधा बोला तो वो बहुत ही क्रोधित हो जाती है।

Mahima loves her team so much that if anyone says anything ill about her team, then she gets fierce.

2. शेर एक ऐसा भयानक जानवर है जिसके सामने जाने से बड़े - बड़े कतराते हैं, चाहे वो पिंजरे में ही क्यों न बंद हो।

The lion is such a fierce animal that even the mightiest animals hesitate to face, even if it’s locked in a cage.

3. मैंने अपनी पुस्तक में बड़े और भयंकर जानवरों के बारे में पढ़ा है।

I have read in my book about big and fierce animals.

4. अब यह प्रतियोगिता उग्र हो गई है।

Now this competition has become fierce.
