Prince of Ranchi and one of the most successful captains of the Indian team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born on 7 July 1981. As a child, Dhoni played football and badminton very well, being the goalkeeper of the football team of his school DAV. Dhoni also played both these games at the district and club level. Once while practising football with his team, one of his teachers saw him goal-keeping. The way Dhoni’s eyes were focused towards the ball and seeing the quickness in his hands, his teacher asked him to try his hand at wicket-keeping.
