Definition of Tesnes – Tense is used to show the time at which the action of a verb takes place.
In all languages, tense is divided into three classes namely –
1. Present Tense
2. Past Tense
3. Future Tense

Each of these tenses is further divided into four classes –

1. Present Indefinite Tense

Note – Third Person Singular number कर्ता के साथ ( he, She, it या नाम के साथ मुख्य क्रिया मे ) s, या es, ies का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
Note – Neg. & Int. वाक्य बनाते समय I, We, You, They, Plural No. कर्ता के साथ do का प्रयोग होता है तथा He, She, It या किसी नाम Third Person Singular No. कर्ता के साथ Does का प्रयोग किया जाता है ।

2. Present Continuous Tense

Note – Negative वाक्य बनाते समय सहायक क्रिया के बाद Not का प्रयोग किया जाता है एवं Int. वाक्य बनाते समय सर्वप्रथम सहायक क्रिया लिखी जाती है शेष वाक्य यथावत रहता है ।

3. Present Perfect Tense

Note – Negative वाक्य बनाते समय Sub. + Have/Has + Not + शेष वाक्य यथावत एवं Int. वाक्य बनाते समय Have/Has +Sub. + शेष वाक्य यथावत तथा अंत में प्रश्न्वाचक चिन्ह ।

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense

Note – Since निश्चित समय – जैसे सुबह से, शाम से, पिछली रात से, पिछले दिनों से, मार्च से, 2 बजे से, 2008 से एवं For अनिश्चित समय – जैसे 4 दिनों से, 2 वर्षो से, 10 महिनों से, 10 घंटो से, 5 मिनट से, मार्च 2008 से ।

5. Past Indefinite Tense

Note – इस Tense में Neg. एवं Int. वाक्य बनाते समय सहायक क्रिया Did का प्रयोग किया जाता है ।

6. Past Continuous Tense

Note – I या He, She, It third person singular No. कर्ता के साथ Was एवं We,You,They Plural No. कर्ता के साथ Were का प्रयोग किया जाता है । Neg. तथा Int. बनाने हेतु शेष नियम यथावत ।

7. Past Perfect Tense

Note – इसमें सभी कर्ता के साथ सहायक क्रिया Had का प्रयोग किया जाता है । Neg. तथा Int. बनाने हेतु शेष नियम यथावत ।

8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense

Note – सभी कर्ता में सहायक क्रिया Had Been प्रयोग की जाती है । Neg. वाक्य में Sub. + Had + Not + Been शेष यथावत तथा Int. में Had + Sub. + Been शेष वाक्य यथावत । Since निश्चित For अनिश्चित समय हेतु ।

9. Future Indefinite Tense

Note – I एवं We के साथ Shall सहायक क्रिया तथा शेष कर्ता के साथ Will सहायक क्रिया का प्रयोग किया जाता है ।

10. Future Continuous Tense

Note – Neg. वाक्य बनाते समय Sub. + Shall not be या Will not be तथा शेष यथावत एवं Int. वाक्य बनाते समय सहायक क्रिया Shall / Will + Sub. + Be एवं शेष वाक्य यथावत रहते है ।

11. Future Perfect Tense

Note – Neg. वाक्य बनाने में Sub. + सहायक क्रिया Will not have / Shall not have तथा शेष वाक्य यथावत एवं Int. वाक्य बनाने में सहायक क्रिया Shall / Will + Sub. + have + शेष वाक्य यथावत ।

12. Future Perfect Continuous Tense

Note – Neg. वाक्य में Sub. + Will / Shall + Not + have been तथा शेष वाक्य यथावत एवं Int. वाक्य में Shall / Will + Sub. + have been शेष वाक्य यथावत लिखकर प्रश्न्वाचक चिन्ह लगाते है बाकी नियम पूर्ववत ।
