Use of “The very”

मुझे यही किताब चाहिए।
This is the very book I want.

वो उसी जगह घूमने गया जहाँ हर कोई जाना चाहता है।
He went to visit the very place, where everyone wants to go.

चिन्ता मत करो! मैं वही ऐक्सरसाइज़ कर रहा हूँ जो आपने मुझे सिखायी है।
Don’t worry! I am doing the very exercise that you have taught me.

वो वही लड़का है, जिसके बारे में मैं क्लास में बात कर रहा था।
He is the very boy, about whom I was talking in the class.

Use of “Very much”

सुमित घर पर ही है।
Sumit is very much here.

वो स्कूल में ही है। कृपया जाइए और उसे तुरन्त लाइए।
He is very much in the school. Please go and get him right away.

हम यहीं पर आपका इन्तज़ार कर रहे हैं। कृपया जल्दी आइएगा।
We are very much here waiting for you, please come early.

वो वहीं पर थी पर आप उसको देख नहीं पाये।
She was very much there but you couldn’t see her.

Use of “or so”

वो एकाद दिन में आयेगा।
He will come in a day or so.

वो तीन चार महीने बाद आयेगा।
He will come after three months or so.

हम दो तीन घंटे के अन्दर आ रहे हैं।
We are coming within two hours or so.

Use of “or what”

ये कम्प्यूटर ही तो है ना?
This is a computer or what?

तुम पागल तो नहीं हो?
You are a fool or what?

वो कैल्कुलेशन में अच्छा है भी?
He is good at calculations or what?

Seems as if / Seems like / Looks like

लगता है आप फुटबॉल के बारे में कुछ नहीं जानते।
Seems as if you don’t know anything about football.

लगता है आप ये काम बहुत अच्छे से संभाल सकते हैं।
Looks like you can handle this work very well.

ऐसा लगता है जैसे आप अपनी कक्षा में गणित में अच्छे हैं।
It seems as if you are good at mathematics in your class.

ऐसा लगता है जैसे मैं इस साल परीक्षा पास नहीं कर पाऊँगा।
Seems as if I will not be able to pass the exam this year.

ऐसा लगता है जैसे कोई भी उसकी मदद करने को तैयार नहीं है।
Looks like nobody is ready to help him.

ऐसा लगता है जैसे तुम मुझसे कुछ कहना चाहते हो।
It seems like you want to say something to me.

ऐसा लगता है जैसे उसने होमवर्क कर लिया है, वरना वो खेल नहीं रहा होता।
Seems like he has done the homework, or else he would not be playing.

यह मोबाइल भारत में बना है।
This mobile is made in India.

यह गेंद लैदर से बनी हुई है।
This ball is made of leather.

यह मोबाइल प्लास्टिक, लोहा, एल्यूमीनियम आदि से बना है।
This mobile is made up of plastic, iron, aluminum, etc.

एक टीम खिलाड़ियों, कोचों और अन्य स्टाफ सदस्यों से बनी होती है।
A team is made up of players, coaches, and other staff members.

यह पंखा हैवेल्स द्वारा बनाया गया है, और वह पंखा मेरे द्वारा बनाया गया है।
This fan is made by Havells, and that fan is made by me.

यह पेंटिंग रवि ने बनाई है।
This painting is made by Ravi.

Made for / Meant for

वे वास्तव में एक–दूसरे के लिए बने हैं।
They are truly made for each other./
They are truly meant for each other.

आप क्रिकेट के लिए बने हैं और मैं टीचिंग के लिए बना हूँ।
You are made for cricket and I am made for teaching./
You are meant for cricket and I am meant for teaching.

मुझे लगता है कि वो पेंटिंग के लिए ही बना है क्योंकि वो इसमें बहुत अच्छा है।
I guess he is made for painting because he is extremely good at it./
I guess he is meant for painting because he is extremely good at it.

Keep + <Verb ing>

वह बिना किसी कारण के हमसे लड़ता रहेगा, इसलिए उसे अनदेखा करें।
He will keep fighting with us for no reason, so just ignore him.

वह आपको अपने पैसे वापस करने के लिए फोन करता रहता है लेकिन आप उसकी कॉल को नजरअंदाज कर देते हैं।
He keeps calling you to return his money but you ignore his calls.

वह खुद वॉशिंग मशीन ठीक करने की कोशिश करता रहा लेकिन कोई फायदा नहीं हुआ।
He kept trying to fix the washing machine himself but to no avail.

रवि अपने मोबाइल पर गेम खेलता रहता है और इसी कारण वह परीक्षा में फेल हो गया।
Ravi keeps playing games on his mobile, and that’s why he failed the exam.

Start + <verb + ing> / Begin + <to verb>

वह छोटी–छोटी बातों पर झगड़ने लगता है।
He starts fighting over the trifles./
He begins to fight over the trifles.

मैंने पिछले सोमवार से जिम जाना शुरू किया।
I started going to the gym last Monday./
I began to go to the gym last Monday.

हम अगले सोमवार से अपने उत्पादों का विज्ञापन शुरू करेंगे।
We will start advertising our products the next Monday./
We will begin to advertise our products from the next Monday.

मेरे भाई ने अब अंग्रेजी सीखना शुरू कर दिया है।
My brother has started learning English now. /
My brother has begun to learn English now.

Fond of + <verb + ing>

वो क्रिकेट का शौकीन है।
He is fond of cricket.

वो क्रिकेट खेलने का शौकीन है।
He is fond of playing cricket.

मुझे खेलने का, गाने का और सबसे महत्वपूर्ण किताबें पढ़ने का शौक है।
I am fond of playing, singing, and most importantly reading books.

How to + <verb>

मैं गाड़ी चलाना नहीं जानता।
I don’t know how to drive.

आपको अंग्रेज़ी बोलना सीखना चाहिए।
You should learn how to speak English.

मैं जानता हूँ कि बिज़नेस कैसे करना है लेकिन मेरे पास निवेश करने के लिए पैसे नहीं हैं।
I know how to do business but I have no money to invest.

क्या आपके पास कोई आईडिया है कि पुस्तकें कैसे प्रिन्ट करवाई जाएँ?
Do you have any idea how to get the books printed?

Use of “Good at/in”
Use of “Bad at/in”

वह क्रिकेट में अच्छा है लेकिन फुटबॉल में खराब है।
He is good at cricket but bad at football.

वह क्रिकेट खेलने में अच्छा है लेकिन फुटबॉल खेलने में ख़राब है।
He is good at playing cricket but bad at playing football.

मैं पढ़ाई में अच्छा हूँ लेकिन गणित में उतना अच्छा नहीं हूँ।
I am good at studies but not that good at mathematics.

आप व्यवसाय में अच्छे हैं, है ना?
You are good at business, aren’t you?

मुझे लगता है कि वे दोनों गाना गाने में खराब हैं लेकिन खेल में अच्छे हैं।
I think they both are bad at singing but good at games.

मैं कैलकुलेशन में अच्छा हूँ और इसीलिए मैं सीए बनना चाहता हूँ।
I am good at calculations, and that’s why I want to become a CA.

वह खाना बनाने में अच्छी नहीं है लेकिन चाय बनाने में तो बहुत ही खराब है।
She is not good at cooking but she is really bad at making tea.
