5. For instance (ph.) – फॉर इन्स्टैन्स - इन उदाहरण के लिए / माना

1. माना, आपके पास पैसे न हों। अब आप क्या करोगे?

For instance, you have no money. What would you do now?

2. माना, वहाँ कोई न हो, ऐसे में आप डर जाओगे।

For instance, there is no one. You’d be scared then.

6. Diplomat (n.) - डिप्लोमेट - चतुर / कूटनीति करने वाला / राजनयिक

1. रमन के पिताजी को भारत की तरफ से स्वीडन में राजनयिक के तौर पर भारत सरकार ने भेजा है।

Raman’s father has been sent as India’s ambassador to Sweden by the Government of India.

2. प्रदीप बहुत ही चतुर है, वह दो लोगों को दो अलग बात बता के दोनों से फायदा उठा लेता है इसलिए उससे दूर रहने में ही भलाई है।

Pradip is very diplomatic, he talks differently to two different people to take advantage of both, and hence it’s better to stay away from him.

7. Firm (adj. & n.) – फर्म - दृढ़ / कंपनी

1. प्रियंका चोपड़ा महिला सशक्तिकरण के लिए दृढ़ स्वर में बोलती है।

Priyanka Chopra speaks in a firm voice for women empowerment.

2. वो भारत में एक बड़ी विज्ञापन कंपनी के लिए काम करते हैं।

He works for a big advertising firm in India.

8. Initial (n.) - इनिशियल - शुरुआती / पहला/ प्रारम्भ का

1. इमारत बनने का काम अभी बहुत ही शुरुआती अवस्था में है , पूरी तरह से इससे बनने में करीब पांच साल लगेंगे।

The construction work for this building is its very initial stages, and it will take around five years for its completion.

2. किसी भी काम को सीखने में शुरुआती दिनों में काफी मुश्किलें आती हैं लेकिन धीरे - धीरे वह काफी आसान हो जाती हैं।

Learning any work in its initial days, we have to face a lot of difficulties, but later on gradually it gets easier.

9. Ointment (n) - ऑइंटमेंट – मरहम

1. दोस्तों के साथ खेलते समय, सृष्टि को बहुत ज़ोर से हाथ में चोट लग गयी, उसकी माँ ने फिर उसपर मरहम लगाया और ऊपर से एक पट्टी बांध दी।

While playing her friends, Shrishiti was severely hurt on her hand, her mother then applied an ointment over it and also applied bandage over it.

2. चोट जब लगती है तो मरहम लगाने से जलन बहुत होती है, दर्द भी बहुत होता है, लेकिन ठीक भी मरहम ही करता है।

When we get injured, then applying ointment burns a lot, it even hurts a lot, but the healing is done by the ointment only.

10. Extravagant (adj.) - एक्सट्रावगैंट - बेफिज़ूल ख़र्चीला / फ़िज़ूलखर्ची

1. समझदार व्यक्ति वही कहलाता है जो सिर्फ ज़रुरत का सामान खरीदे और फ़िज़ूलख़र्ची न करे।

A person is said to be wise only if he buys required things and doesn’t spend extravagantly.

2. अभय के हाथ से पैसा बहुत जल्दी निकलता है क्योंकि वह हर अच्छी चीज़ को देखकर उसपर बेफिज़ूल में खर्च कर देता है।

Abhay is not able to hold onto money because he spends extravagantly by getting attracted to a thing.
